New Release: The Church of Milk and Honey

Hello dear friends,

It is with great pride and joy that I share with you my latest book release. It is in many ways a new genre for me, and in many ways a book I have been writing all my life. That is, a book you have been writing for me.

This volume is a collection of 52 poems, prayers, essays, pieces of art, memories, and wisdom written by my friends, family and teachers. It has been an active collection process for a couple of years, while I took a little creative rest. I put my pen down in order to listen. Something was not quite working in my creative pursuits and I’d become tired of forcing it.

I realized, after much trail wandering and tea sipping and meditation with the sun on my face, that the words that I had written, write now, and will write, are not my own. They are yours, and through our conversations, tears, hugs, text messages, shared cups of coffee, I managed to collect them and lay them on the page.

This project was then planted, with the intention to honor that collective wisdom, appreciate it, and ask it to continue to show me the way through my life’s great joy: writing. And now, the book is born and ready to be passed around, admired, shared, held, and loved.

Thank you deeply and sincerely to all of those who trusted me with their work. Thank you also to those whose words do not appear here in black and white, but who are part of the Church all the same: Lorri, Veronica, Olivia, Kerry, Sara, Matthew, Aaron, Ella, JJ, Rachael , Cija, Leila, Nikki, Dzana, Meredith, Ladan, Ciara, Victoria, Tyler, Mark, Alyssa, Eric, and many more.
